Rapid implementations

Get started on the right path – select the most appropriate platform and implementation approach.

Apply the right level of project management:

  • Don’t: Pad the project out with account or project management to up the project fee, but
  • Don’t neglect management at a essential part of delivering the optimum result at the right pace.

All parties should be happy with the level of management on each project.

This is one of the primary reasons why larger agencies do not deliver smaller projects – they lack a flexible approach to client and project management.

The Right Technology
Platform and technology selection is also key in ensuring efficient delivery. Applying the wrong platform is like fitting a square peg in a round hole. Sure it can be done, but it will take significant effort and the result will be messy. Why not just choose the right technology first?

There are now a wide range of highly functional and cost effective (even free!) technologies and platforms available. Including:

  • Open Source – a huge range of freely available applications that can be easily hosted
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) – proprietary systems designed to support online projects
  • Online properties such as Blogger, hosted Wikis, YouTube, FaceBook and many more
  • Online systems to tap into (Mash-ups!) – quickly leveraging other peoples genius to support ours
  • Other free online tools such as Skype, Google Apps and Gmail, which have become legitimate project options

In-line Testing

Online platforms can speed up delivery considerably; they support the project by providing the functionality that we require so we do not need to develop and test it again for each project.

Because these platforms are usually fully hosted we:

  • Do not need to buy, install, configure, manage or host any hardware
  • Be sure that the platform is tested and reliable, reducing system testing (although not user testing) needs
  • Can build or set up project deliverable directly onto the platform
  • Provide access to the web elements for review and testing immediately via online staging areas
